1.     …From the President

Important Notice to all Members!

…..My first meeting with Greg Belin was on Monday, May 14, 200l. All issues currently of concern to us as MGA members, golfers and as residents of Bentwater (and non-resident property owners) were addressed. I felt that we have mutual goals, and that he is also dedicated to improving communication, and is desirous of our input in resolving these mutual concerns. We will continue with at least monthly meetings toward that end. If you will keep me advised of your concerns, they will be addressed. If you want a more complete summary of our meeting, Bentwater's goals and actions taken to address those goals, please e-mail me.

…..Meanwhile, the most urgent issue affecting each of us in one way or another is the policy to limit the number of private carts, and to not permit the transfer of your cart registration to the new owner in the event of the sale of your home. The Bentwater Board had responded to several of you individually confirming that it had decided to maintain the policy as announced. After presenting some of the reasons why this policy should be revisited, Mr. Belin responded that even though Bruce Belin, Chairman of the Board, believes that private carts should be limited, based on his extensive experience as developer of several golfing communities, he is a reasonable man and will consider our concerns. He encouraged any who want to address this issue to let the Bentwater Board know of your concerns and reasons. You may address these to Bruce Belin, Chairman of the Board, at 800 Bentwater Drive, Montgomery, Texas 77356. Your MGA Board endorses my request to have a commission or committee formed with members of the Bentwater Board and property owners to consider this important issue as it affects both the Developer and Owners, and to then devise an equitable solution that protects the interests of both sides to our mutual benefit.

…..Other groups and organizations including LGA and BCA members are participating to insure the Board is aware of all the issues. If you have an interest in this issue you should immediately advise the Board. I would appreciate a copy of any correspondence to keep me aware of your concerns and reasoning. Thanks.

…..Baseball season has returned, so until next month remember…one thought driven home is worth three left on base. Don

2.     …From the Board of Directors

…..This is to remind members that there will not be MGA playdays on Thursdays June 7 and June 21.

…..E-mail addresses have been received from 163 members who now receive the monthly newsletters and minutes of the MGA board meetings by e-mail. If you are not one of these and have an e-mail address, please register your address with Joe Gurley, Electronics Communications Committee Chairman, at jgurley@txucom.net.

…..On behalf of all members, the Board has expressed its gratitude to Dan Shull, recently Bentwater Head Professional, for his valuable efforts and assistance to the members, the Board and the Tournament Committee during his tenure at Bentwater. We wish him success in his new job as the first PGA Golf Professional at Hope Country Club, Hope, Arkansas.
